Steam Ride

Hey Fellow (and would be) Randonneurs,

 Welcome to my manor, the Chilterns. I've lived in Oxford, Didcot, Wallingford and Ealing, London, a life-time and being a Randonneur, you could say I know the area...

 I hope you enjoy the rides, the villages are the hidden secret of this ride, especially the ones where the Thames winds through. Explore a bit off the trail and you'll find some fab pubs with great food, so no matter how many times you ride the SteamRides, you'll never tire of them. The major landfall is, of course, Oxford but also crosses the Thames again at Wallingford, Abingdon and Clifton Hampden. After the Chilterns, fast quiet B-roads provide an opportunity for you to stretch your legs (and your lungs).

 

If you're a train or Steam fan, then in you're in for a treat. Special thanks to the S.Bucks CTC (2nd CTC points 2014) and AC Hackney (2nd Club points 2014) volunteers.

 

Completed 2nd Paris-Brest-Paris in 2015 to Vadette pace.
